ROGER PRATT – the movie legend who labored on Harry Potter, Batman and The Karate Child – has tragically died aged 77.

The Brit cinematographer’s loss of life was confirmed in an announcement made by the British Society of Cinematographers who stated the legend handed away in December.

The assertion didn’t specify a date of location of when the legend handed.

Pratt was born in 1947 and grew up within the Midlands.

He studied on the unbelievable London Movie Faculty, even occurring to collaborate with filmmaker Terry Gilliam throughout his profession after the pair met on Monty Python and the Holy Grail set.

Recalling assembly the Brit legend, Gilliam talked of one thing going unsuitable throughout filming, when Pratt swooped in to assist.

He stated: “This man stated, ‘Simply give me a second’ and in a couple of minutes, whereas we have been nonetheless faffing round, he had run all the best way down the mountain, forded the river, run up the opposite aspect, into the digicam truck, grabbed the fitting lens and right here it was.

“We caught it on the digicam and received the shot. That was the second I fell in love with Roger.”

Pratt grew to become the director of images on over a whopping 35 movies, together with two of the Harry Potter films, the 2004 hit Troy, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Chocolat and 2010’s The Karate Child.

The legend can also be remembered for his unbelievable work with Tim Burton on the look of his 1989 Batman.

In 2023 Pratt was awarded the BSC’s highest honour, the Lifetime Achievement Award.

In a heartwarming tribute to the cinematographer, the BSC stated: “The son of a parish vicar, the church didn’t seize his profession aspirations, seeing 16mm ‘truth and religion’ movies did.

“Roger would go on to shoot a few of Gilliam’s cult classics, from Brazil (1985) to The Fisher King (1991) and 12 Monkey’s (1995).”

Tributes have been pouring in for the late star on social media.

One heartbroken fan stated: “Farewell to the incomparable Roger Pratt.

“We’ll miss his gentle.”
